IT virtualisation

What Is IT Virtualisation?

In computing, virtualisation refers to the process of making a virtual copy of an object, including software systems, storage media, and virtual machine hardware platforms. Virtualisation is often used to provide access from various systems to a single system, which in turn allows for easier management and maintenance of the system’s resources.

IT virtualisation is usually done through the use of VMWare ESX servers and also some software applications. When you choose a web hosting plan with a host that uses VMWare, you can get instant virtualisation. This means that if you need to use different hardware and operating systems, you can simply install other operating systems in the dedicated servers to ensure your applications run correctly.

Another popular method of IT virtualisation is by the use of VMWare’s VMWare ESX servers. When you have a VMWare ESX server as your hosting web option, you can configure the virtual machines from your central server, or you can run VMWare ESX Server as a stand-alone server. In either case, your web applications will be configured to be compatible with the virtual environment created within the ESX server.

IT virtualisation is a relatively new concept that has been around for some time. Since the first implementation of virtual environments, it has been used for a variety of reasons. One of the most important uses of IT virtualisation is the creation of “virtual offices” which are actually physically similar to real offices. Another widespread use is when companies are using virtual production environments for their IT infrastructure and software applications.

Today there are many different ways to implement IT virtualisation on a hosting server. Many companies prefer to use dedicated virtualisation platforms such as VMWare’s ESX Server, or even VMWare Fusion. If you are using ESX as your virtualisation solution, it is easy to expand or migrate your virtualised systems. With the ESX Server, you can create multiple virtual environments, all of which are entirely separate from each other and utterly isolated from each other.

Another popular choice of web hosting plans is the use of VMWare ESX Servers and VMWare Fusion. VMWare ESX Servers has a built-in feature called Shared Volumes which allow you to store your virtualisation software in a file and then share it between your virtual servers, allowing you to move virtual machines without affecting other virtual machines.

VMWare Fusion is also available as an open-source software solution which is easy to install and configure. It uses a virtualisation platform called libvirt, which enables you to have multiple physical machines running on a virtual machine platform.

Whether you use dedicated or non-dedicated hosting platforms, you should always make sure that you check that your web servers are running a version of VirtualBox or VMware ESX Server. To avoid compatibility issues. If they are not, it is recommended that you upgrade your server to the latest versions so that you can run virtual machines on the most up to date virtualisation platform.
